“Dorset Spring”

With the trees about to break into leaf and a general air of freshness, this photograph depicts the Dorset countryside at its best.

Colmers Hill, seen here, is a much loved landmark just outside Bridport (Hardy's Port Bredy in The Mayor of Casterbridge), in the village of Symondsbury.

Although not very high, it can be seen from many parts of the surrounding countryside.
